This is a rare nobori bata, flag for boy's festival days.
This piece was dyed with shibori techniquein Kyushu district, and called Amagi shibori. Large kamon and 'shou-chiku-bai'(pine tree, bamboo and ume blossom) motifs are dyed vividly with shibori technique.
Amagi shibori is not dyed today. It seems to be from pre WWII and we got this piece from a dealer in Kyushu.
Very rare item!
