This haori is from Taisho period(1912-1925) or early Showa period(Showa:1926-1989). It has bold rose(peony?) motif, which is dyed with shibori technique. shibori is Japanese tie dyeing technique, and it gives the textile very unique texture. Sleeves are gracefully long, which is the feature of kimono from pre WWII. It is made of soft rinzu silk, which has large kanoko dot pattern and peony motif. It has slight discoloration in the white parts. There are couple of stains, but as a whole it is in very good condition. *Approx background color - red Softness ( □ Exceptionally Soft, Soft, Medium, Comparatively Stiff, Stiff ) photo:nono |
