This is a summer maru obi from Taisho period(1912-1925) or early Showa period(Showa:1926-1989). It has wonderful woven pattern - Japanese instruments, 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase' ) and flowers are woven colorfully. Textile seems to be jinken(rayon). Approx 60% of both sides are patterned, and rest part is blank like fukuro obi. It has some flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition. *Approx background color - HTML code ( DCF3F2)
