This boy's kimono is from Taisho period(1912-1925) or Meiji period(1868-1912).
It is made of plain silk, and has WONDERFUL 'Seechu-takenoko-hori motif, which is dyed with
yuzen technique.
It means 'look for bamboo shoot in snow'.
It is the folk tale of China. A boy wanted to give his sick parent, but season was winter(bamboo shoot grow in spring). However he couldn't give up, and went to look for it into snow covered bamboo grove. And he found!
It is a story, which let us know impossible thing can be happened if we strongly want.
