This is a fabulous koto cover from Taisho period(1912-1925) or early Showa period(Showa:1926-1989).
It has dramatic flowers basket and butterfly motif, which is colorfully dyed. Tassel and other parts are added wonderful embroidery.
Another side has bold standing crane motif.
Textile is sioze silk, and has smooth touch.
It has a small hole, peeled spots of gold dyestuffs, couple of stains and some patinas ( Please refer the figure ). However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
We highly recommend this fabulous koto cover!
