This is a fabulous rare mawashi, sumo wrestler's pants.
It is from pre WWII, and has wonderful embroidery work! Battle of Yoshitsune and Benkei at Gojo Bridge is embroidered vividly! Please enjoy its wonderful embroidery details with more photos.
Textile is thick wool. Kinran fabric is added in the wrong side in the both ends.
Gold threads are discolored and slightly frayed. Several embroidery parts are coming off. There are more than 10 small holes and stains above the embroidery part. Rest part also has more than several small holes. Kinran fabric of the other side has frays. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
