This is a luxurious kesa, monk's gown. It has stunning phoenix motif, which is woven in transparent silk.
It has several long repaired tears in the upper hem. Lower part has couple of long tears in the folding line. Textile is becoming weak, and tears will increase easily in future ( in the figure, we check only a tear, but we have found another now - so it must torn after taking photos).
There are some stains and patinas. We can not say it is in very good condition, but it is still very charming piece for its fantastic design.
