This is a FABULOUS ranru, vintage rag.
It seems to be used as rug, and many parts are repaired elaborately and well worn.
Various cotton fabrics, includes katazome, kasuri, shima and solid ai color fabrics, are used, and some parts are added thick sashiko stitches.

You must feel the owner's affection to the fabrics.
It is really an unintended art - art of Japanese 'Mottainai'!
