This is a luxurious silk maru obi from Taisho period(1912-1925) or early Showa period(Showa:1926-1989). It has bold 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase' ) and pine tree motifs, which are woven boldly. Lots of gold threads are used, and this piece has exceptionally gorgeous atmosphere. Textile is exquisite silk, and has very soft touch. It has several very small or slight smudges. There are some small snags or frays (not prominent). As a whole it is nearly in excellent condition. *Approx background color - HTML code ( EDE8E2)
