This blue maru obi is from Meiji period(1868-1912). It has elegant butterfly and chrysanthemum pattern, which is woven elaborately. 'Shou-chiku-bai'(pine tree, bamboo and ume blossom) pattern is also woven in grayish blue background.
It has prominent folding lines, many stains and frays in the hems. We can not say it is in very good condition, but it is still very charming piece for its fantastic design.
