This is a reversible chuya obi from mid-Showa period(Showa:1926-1989). One side has cloud looking pattern with 'karabana'(imaginary flower in China) motifs. The other side has cute sparrow with wave motifs, which are also woven finely. The textile are both jinken and has medium smooth touch.
There are noticeable patina at places with several fray and stains on the brown side. Navy color side has several stains and prominent smudge at places(they look more noticeable than the photos because of the lighting and the textile color). Fray also appear on the woven parts. We can not say this is in very good condition but still this can be a charming interior display.
