This is a kimono silk fabric cut into houmongi shape and stitched roughly before sewing to make houmongi. Kimono is made of a bolt of cloth which is 14.2" in width.
This houmongi has very unique sumo wrestler motif, which is dyed. He must be Takanohana, who was very popular Yokozuna wrestler.
Textile is exquisite silk, and has very soft touch.
It has some small stains and discoloration in the front, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
It must be an excellent material for your handicraft!
