This is a FABULOUS uchishiki from Edo Priod( 1603-1867). This was originally a kimono and it was dedicated to be used as an uchishiki. It must be very special kimono at that time. It is made of 'asa' Japanese hemp, the hem parts are silk. It has various flower motifs, which are dyed and beautifully embroidered. Please check more photos for the WONDERFUL details!
There are some noticeable flaws as in the photos but as a whole, it is in very good condition.
