This is a charming Geisya's susohiki kimono from mid Showa period(Showa:1926-1989) or earlier. It has fabulous 'yuki-mochi-zasa'(bamboo leaves covered with snow) and 'yukiwa'(snow crystal) motif, which is dyed colorfully! Many bamboo leaves are added gold embroidery.
What a gorgeous atmosphere this piece has!
Susohiki literally means 'trail the skirt' and it was worn to do the elegant dance with a folding fan in the Japanese style drawing room. It has very long length and eye-catching design. This piece's bottom is padded.
Textile is exquisite silk, and has soft touch.
It has some stains, patinas mainly in the front part. Lapel has wear and lining has patinas, but as a whole, it is in a very good condition.
