This is an incredible jinbaori, jacket worn by samurai.
We have never seen a piece like this one - it has dragon motif, which is woven with tsume tsuzure technique! One threads by one threads, it was woven elaborately with nails, and it had to be taken incredibly long time to be completed.
Please enjoy its wonderful details with more photos - dragon in the bottom is stunning and dragon circle is also woven in the lapel!
This piece is from Edo Priod( 1603-1867), and it had to be worn by a famous samurai, who was at the very high position.
It has a small tear in the right front bottom. There are discoloration and some stains and a small hole. Seam in the left sleeve is coming loose partly. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
For the real connoisseurs. Muesum class piece!
