This was used as girl's kimono, but it is women's haori originally. Shouler is folded and sewn to be shortened, and if you unpick the seam, sleeve to sleeve length will be 12cm-4.7in longer. Bodice and sleeves were also folded and sewn, but we unpicked them.
This piece is from Taisho period(1912-1925) or early Showa period(Showa:1926-1989) and has dramatic
yuzen work! Kimono ladies, child and flowers are dyed elegantly. Its
yuzen work has very skilled and artistic touch. Please enjoy its wonderful
yuzen work details with more photos.
Textile is rinzu, silk with damask effect, and has soft and comfortable touch.
If you unpick the shoulder seam, it can be worn as hori, but discoloration of purple color is prominent in some parts, and it will be more prominent if you do so. So we recommend you to display this piece as it is.
