This is a graceful Geisya's susohiki kimono from pre WWII. Susohiki literally means 'trail the skirt' and it was worn to do the elegant dance with a folding fan in the Japanese style drawing room. It has very long length compared to usual kimono. This piece has elegant flowers and vase motif, which is dyed with yuzen technique. Chrysanthemum, ume blossom, bamboo and vase with bird motif are dyed colorfully . Please check more photos for the wonderful details! Textile is rinzu silk and has wave like pattern. Bottom is slightly padded. It has very slight discoloration(or slight smudges) and some stains as photos show, but as a whole it is in a very good condition. *Approx background color - HTML code ( 480798)
