This is a vintage sakiori rug from pre WWII.
Sakiori is a traditional Japanese technique of rag weaving.The rag strips are cut finely and woven into a tweed-like fabric.
This piece has beautiful stripe pattern.
There are a prominent tear/hole, several stains, and smudge and fray at places but as a whole, it is in a very good condition.
