This is a rare firemen's jacket from late Edo Priod( 1603-1867) or very early Meiji period(1868-1912).
'Bushi'(samurai) wore this type of jacket at fire, and hoisted a flag on the horse.
This is made of purple wool, and lined with beautiful woven pattern silk. In the back, dragon embroidery is done!
Kamon of the right sleeve is missing. There are some holes. Head belt(2) has couple of tears mainly in the hem. The other side has small holes. Belt(3) is also made of wool, and many holes.
However, it is still very valuable piece!
