This is a nagoya obi from pre WWII. It has such an artistic 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase' ) with full of decorated sea shell motifs, which are dyed elaborately! Please check more photos for the wonderful details! The textile is silk and has medium touch. There are several smudge, stains and discoloration on the wide part. Narrow part also has several noticeable stains and smudge but as a whole, it is in a very good condition. *Approx background color - HTML code ( E5DBA1)
