This is an uchishiki, fabric for Buddhist altar from pre WWII. It has detailed flower motif pattern, which are woven with 'kinran', gold-leaf paper strips fabric threads. The textile is silk, lined with cotton.
There are many noticeable flaws as in the photos. Almst all the gold on the kinran fabric are gone becausse of fray. We can not say this is in very good condition but still this is a charming piece for its design.
