This is a woderful fukusa from Meiji period(1868-1912) It has such a detailed 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase' ) motif, which is detailed ELABORATELY. Its hand embroidery work is excellent and has such high quality! Please check more photos for the wonderful details! Textile is shusu silk and has soft smooth touch. There are several noticebale black stain on the shusu silk part. Smudge also appears on the light colored embroidery parts. Lining has a few stains and hols(tear) but as a whole, it is in a very good condition.
