This is a graceful Geisya's susohiki kimono from mid Showa period(Showa:1926-1989).
It has exotic seigaiha wave and flowers pattern, which is dyed with
yuzen technique.
It has exceptionally graceful atmosphere!
Susohiki literally means 'trail the skirt' and it was worn to do the elegant dance with a folding fan in the Japanese style drawing room. It has very long length and eye-catching design.
Textile is rinzu silk, and has very soft touch.
This is one piece, which recently came to our kimono market from a family in Kyoto. We don't know why such many Geisha's susohiki were owned by a family, but we luckily got most of them.
It has some stains, slight smudges, patinas and slight discoloration. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
