This is a huge 'maku'(curtain) used by drama group.
It is made of cotton, and has stunning shishi and peony motif, which is vividly dyed.
Names of drama group, stores and companies, who seemed to donate to this group are also dyed.
Please enjoy its interesting design with more photos.
It is from mid Showa period(Showa:1926-1989).
There are tears, roughly repaired tears and stains. However it is still very charming piece!
