This is a kurotomesode, most formal kimono for married women. This piece is made of ro, summer sheer silk and from Taisho period(1912-1925) or early Showa period(Showa:1926-1989).
It has bold sail ship and grass motif, which is dyed with yuzen technique. Its bold 'ryozuma' ( mirror image design, which is the feature of kimono from pre WWII) design is very impressive.
It has some stains and patinas, and black color is slightly discolored. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
