This is a nagoya obi from mid-Showa period(Showa:1926-1989). This nagoya obi has very interesting motifs. It has Hotei ( one of the Seven Lucky Gods) dancing with 'karako'(karako is child figure in China) motifs, which are woven and partly embriodered. Expression on hotei's face is very joyful. Please check more photos for the fine details. The textile is silk and has sof smooth touch. There are slight smudge or patina on the motif part. The corner has fray. narrow parts has several stains and fray but as a whole, it is in a very good condition. *Approx background color - HTML code ( 3D4098)
