This is a magnificent black kimono from Meiji period(1868-1912).
'Uguisu'(bush warbler), ume blossom and stream motifs are dyed elegantly with yuzen technqiue. Many parts are added fine embroidery. Please enjoy its wonderful details with more photos.
Textile is valuable chirimen(crepe) silk and has soft touch.
Bottom is padded.
It has a long tear in the bottom inside(it is not seen when it is displayed). There also is a tear in the bottom of right front. It also has some stains as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
We highly recommend this magnificent Meiji kimono!
