This vintage men's juban has exceptionally unique design - couple in Edo Priod( 1603-1867) is dyed. They are covering their faces --- lantern and book is dyed in the lower part, and characters in the book read ' Chikagoro Kawara Aibiki'( Recent Riverside Date)!
Textile is exquisite silk, and has very soft touch.
It has some stains and a tear in the bottom ( E in figure). Seams are coming loose ( both underarm, and approx 20cm-7.9in long in side near the bottom - sorry we don't check in the figure). Lining has several tears, stains and discoloration.
It is wonderful piece!
