This is a kurotomesode, most formal kimono for married women. This piece is from pre WWII, and has sophisticated design - 'tsuzumi'(Japanese hand drum), 'maku'(Japanese curtain), chrysanthemum motifs, which is dyed with
yuzen technique. Many parts are added fine embroidery although some of them are missing or become uneven.
shibori dyed kanoko dot pattern is also added.
Textile is exquisite silk, and has very soft touch.
It has some stains, slight discoloration, patinas and many embroidery stitches are missing. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
