This is a stunning boy's mayamairi kimono from Meiji period(1868-1912). It has dramatic carp motif, which is dyed with yuzen technique. Carps are climbing the waterfall - it is the symbol of social climbing. Maple leaves and pine tree are also dyed vividly besides the waterfall. Textile is exquisite silk, and has very soft touch. It has some flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition. *Approx background color - Black Softness ( Exceptionally Soft, □ Soft, Medium, Comparatively Stiff, Stiff ) Photo:azusa |
