This is a FABULOUS purple haori from Taisho period(1912-1925) or early Showa period(Showa:1926-1989).
In the vivid purple background, it has colorful flowers motifs, which is dyed with yuzen technique.
This piece is specail not only for its very skilled yuzen work, but also for its elaborate embroidery - not only in the back, but also in the sleeve, delicate and vivid embroidery is added at places.
Sleeves and bodice are gracefully long, which is the feature of kimono from pre WWII.
Textile is rinzu, silk with damask effect, and has graceful flowers and cloud motifs, and has very soft and comfortable touch.
It has very slight flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is nearly in excellent condition.
We highly recommend this fantastic vintage purple haori!
