This is a TREASURE of Japanese antique textile. It seems to be from Meiji period(1868-1912), and was maru obi. It is fully unpicked, and lining is removed.
It has cute suzume(sparrow) and seigaiha(wave) pattern, which are woven finely.
What a wonderful woven work it is! We have never seen a
maru obi fabric like this piece!
Textile has very soft and comfrotabe touch.
There are folding lines in the middle and near both side hem(at 4.5cm-1.8" from side hem each).
There are slight discoloration on the folding lines, and slight small patinas allover.
However textile is not weakened, and as a whole it is in very good condition.
