This is a graceful black muso haori from Taisho period(1912-1925) or early Showa period(Showa:1926-1989). 'Muso' means ' outside and inside is made of the same fabric, and not cut between outside and inside.' This piece has eye-catching 'katawaguruma' ( wheels of royal cart, which are stored in the stream to avoid drying ) motif inside, which is dyed with yuzen technique. Its design is slightly seen from outside, which is the sophisticated Japanese beauty style. Sleeves are gracefully long, which is the feature of kimono from pre WWII. Textile is ro, summer sheer silk and has soft touch. It has slight flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition. *Approx background color - Black Softness ( Exceptionally Soft, □ Soft, Medium, Comparatively Stiff, Stiff ) |
