What a WONDERFUL kimono this piece is!
Rose motif is dyed with shibori and yuzen technique elagantly. Sleeves are gracefully long, which is the feature of kimono from pre WWII.
It has full of fantastic old fashioned taste of Taisho period(1912-1925).
Fabric is very soft and comfortable touch rinzu silk. Front part of both sleeves are made of different rinzu silk fabrics ( 30cm-11.8in long part, from bottom ). However, dyeing work is completely same also on this part. We imagine - fabrics was different kimono and unpicked. To make new kimono, owner is taller than the previous owner, and textile had to be added. After fabrics are added, it was carefully dyed to match the design.
In olden times, people reuse their fabrics again and again with great care. This piece is the good sample for it.
There are some flaws as photos show, but as a whole it is in very good condition.
