This is a kurotomesode, most formal kimono for married women. This piece has eye-catching 'ryozuma' ( mirror image design, which is the feature of kimono from pre WWII) pattern - 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase' ) and pine tree motifs are dyed colorfully and many parts are added rich embroidery. Textile is exquisite silk, and has very soft touch.
There are some stains, patinas, frays, smudges and embroidery stitches is coming off in one part. Black color is slightly discolored. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
