This is a magnificent Geisya's susohiki kimono from Taisho period(1912-1925) or early Showa period(Showa:1926-1989).
Susohiki literally means 'trail the skirt' and it was worn to do the elegant dance with a folding fan in the Japanese style drawing room.
This piece has very elegant design - maple leaf, pine tree, chrysanthemum and ume blossom motifs are dyed with
yuzen technique. Many parts are added embroidery. Its design is graceful and very Japanese.
Kamons are dyed.
Please enjoy its wonderful details with more photos!
Textile is exquisite silk, and has very soft touch.
It has some stains, slight smudges, patinas and embroidery stitches are coming loose in some part. Background blue color is very slightly discolored. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
We highly recommend this fabulous susohiki!
