This is a fabulous embroidery fukusa from Meiji period(1868-1912).
Hotei ( one of the Seven Lucky Gods) motif is embroidered elaborately. Please enjoy its wonderful details with more photos.
Textile is syusu silk, and lined with chirimen silk.
It has a few stains. Face of Hotei is divided to two color parts ( we don't know why, but threads may be discolored).
As a whole it is in very good condition.
