This vintage fukusa is from Meiji period(1868-1912), and has beautiful 'shou-chiku-bai'(pine tree, bamboo and ume blossom) motif, which is elaborately embroidered. Textile is black shusu silk, and lined with chirimen silk.
Right side has some frays and there is a tear in the upper part. The other side has many tears.
However, it is still very charming piece! |
