This is a vintage sakiori rug from pre WWII.
Sakiori is a traditional Japanese technique of rag weaving.The rag strips are cut finely and woven into a tweed-like fabric.
This piece is lined with ai color cotton, and heavily padded. It has beautiful check pattern.
The other side has a few tears and stains, but sakiori side doesn't have prominent flaws.
We highly recommend this beautiful sakiori rug!
