This is an antique kesa from Meiji period(1868-1912).
Textile is soft plain silk, and has graceful paulownia and chrysanthemum pattern, which is elegantly embroidered.
It has tow tears near the upper hem ( one is on the folding line and another is on the seam - both are approx 10cm-4in long), and embroidery become uneven in a few parts. The other side has many stains and several tears. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.
