Dear Customers and Friends
Hello from Japan! This is Kimono Flea Market ICHIROYA's News Letter
No.175.
Most customers in USA must know that a famous baseball player(pitcher)
Daisuke Matsuzaka transferred to the U.S. major leagues. Daisuke has
stirring performance at Seibu Lions, and is said to the 'ace of Japan',
He has had aspirations to play in the Major Leagues for a long time,
and now his dream has come true. He throws hard fastball, has good slow
ball as well, and never loose with stress. We Japanese believe he has
to win more than 10 games every year, and will be one of the ace of
Boston Red Sox.
He got huge contract money - approx $60 million over six years. In
addition Red Sox pays $51.1 million for the right to negotiate with him.
The tone of US media about this preferential contract seem to be
negative, except Red Sox fans. However, Daisuke's performance has been
stable from his high school age, and we think there will not be the
uncalculated risks. Just same as antique auctions, the price of the very
popular items always get higher and higher. If everyone want the item,
the winner is always the person who can calculate all possible profits
optimistically. I think Daisuke's case is the typical 'bidding', and he
won the deserved conclusion.
To be precise, Red Sox's bidding price was 51111111.11USD - its bidding
figure is similar to our auctions. We often put fractional figure to
fend off other similar price bids. Red Sox had to think there might be
the other $50 million bid. ( Today we will list very rare Geisha kimono
susohiki, which we won with same tactics - we fortunately won it with
fractional figure.)
Daisuke Matsuzaka learned kendo ( Japanese art of fencing ) when he was
in the early grades of primary school. Later he began baseball and quit
kendo. If he didn't come across baseball, and continued kendo till now,
he might have to be the strongest kendo player in the world. He seemed
to make good decision at that time!
By the way, as I wrote in the previous news letter, I began learning
Kendo several weeks ago. I practice swing everyday and once a week I
went to Tondabayashi Child Kendo School. All beginner associate are
very small boys and girls, who are under 8 years old. To be sad, they
have more energy than me and I have to take rest beside them. I am the
latest comer, and they kindly give advice to me about swing, manner and
others. It is little bit stress, but anyway, learning kendo is a lot of
fun! In addition, my body weight become less 3kg during this two months.
My main goal ( lower the cholesterol ) seems to be accomplished.
Thank you for reading to the end.
